S7 - S8 1978 - 1984
In 1978 the S7 was the first Donkervoort that left the factory. It was powered by a 1.6 liter Ford Kent engine that delivered 90 bhp. It had a 4 speed gearbox . The front suspension was equipped with the famous Truimph uprights. The rear axle came from the Ford Escort. The S8 was a true step forward: it had a larger front track for improved road-holding, a two litre Ford OHC engine with 110 bhp. With both types much attention was given to safety. Examples are the dual brake system with balance bar for rear and front brake bias adjustment and the two aluminium fuel tanks, mounted in front of the rear axle.
