Donkervoort Racing
Donkervoort Racing was initialized in the early 90's in order to develop and
build the race cars, but also to actively recruit and school race drivers.
Since 2008, Donkervoort Racing is participating in the FIA GT4 Sports Light
Championship. FIA introduced this GT4 Sports Light Series for road-legal
sports cars with a minimum weight of 750 kilograms and a maximum power over
3,5 kg per bhp. The all new Donkervoort D8GT turns out to be ideal for this
competition, thanks to the weight of only 650 kg.
Where the first season was purposed as a training season in order to further
optimize and develop the D8 GT, the objective for the season of 2009 will be
to compete for the FIA GT4 Super Sports Series championship.
This season, Donkervoort is entering with two pure white GT's and one
black/grey GT, which are driven by the French driver Stéphane Wintenberger,
the Swiss/Dutch Nico Pronk and the Dutch Denis Donkervoort.
